What would be better to use for a back massage, some type of oil or lotion?

For part of my boyfriend’s valentines day gift i wanted to get a bottle and tape a little card to it that says “IOU 1 back-rub” the only thing is should that bottle be lotion or like k-y massage lubricant or some type of oil?
