what european countries have “turkish baths”, “hammams” or other spas where a guy can be nude?

I love the idea of being able to be nude with locals and not have it be a sexual thing. Steam, sauna, hot tubs, massage, body scrub….all that sounds really cool.
I know Turkey is a great place but I am looking for other options.

I spent a good deal of time in Germany a few years ago and really enjoyed the saunas there–I think they may be just what you’re looking for. Most saunas are large facilities and typically have a pool area where people are clothed (in bathing suits) and a sauna area where people are nude. Note, both sexes are present in both places so if you’re looking for a locker-room type of environment this isn’t for you.

You’ll typically pay a modest fee when entering and it covers the entire day. The pool areas are very recreational, some have water slides, indoor and outdoor sections, current channels, and grotto rooms. The sauna porition typically has several sauna rooms beginning at 80 C and going up to 100 C. Occassionally a saunameister will conduct an aufgus session (creating a steam room) and these will often have essential oils “flavoring” the steam. Eucalyptus to stimulate the breathing, peppermint to stimulate the skin, sometimes even cherry for a sweet “flavored” steam.

There is usually a bar inside the sauna facitlity where you can get a beer and pretzel–some serve full (light) meals. There are, of course, the typical shower facilities, lockers, changing areas, and cold pools.

    Hope that helps.
