Thai Massage Sydney – How I Found A Great Authentic Thailand Massage in Sydney

As I travel quite frequently I really enjoy finding a local Thai Massage centre wherever I may be, and seeing how their service varies from the many I’ve experienced, and in particular how they compare with an authentic Thai Massage experience in Thailand. So on my last trip to NSW Australia, I thought I’d see if I could find a great experience of my favourite kind of Massage in Sydney.

Of all the forms of massage therapy that exist, none intrigue me so much as Traditional Thai Massage. Though I am a qualified massage therapist myself, the system that the Thais have developed still fascinates me more than any other. Possibly the only thing that fascinates me even more is how those rather small Thai women can manipulate a man of my size with such strength! That was certainly my experience in Thailand, I wondered if it would be the same if I got a Thai Massage in Sydney.

Thai massage interestingly began in India. It is a system utilizing both Meridian pressure points and stretching in tandem with an ancient breathing method known as “Pranayama.” The breathing techniques cleanse and relax the muscles while at the same time strengthen the nervous system.

Many Asian massage systems are actually ancient healing rituals  which were created and developed over hundreds of years in India and the Far East.  Asian massage systems are becoming increasingly more popular in western countries. This is in conjunction with the west’s growing interest in holistic forms of relaxation and exercise such as yoga and pilates.

I think that’s one of the reasons I love Thai Massage so much, I love the history and culture that it stemmed from.

So back to my story. When last in Sydney I wanted to find a Thai Massage Therapy centre that was not one of the more commercial centers that I would find advertised in the daily paper. So I just asked around wherever I happened to be, and after a few days I was told, “you must try this little Thai Massage place not far from here”. Ah ha, this could be what I was looking for.

Well, after finding it in the suburb of Burwood, not far west of Sydney CBD, I was greeted by a small lady, clearly a native Thai and I immediately felt very comfortable in this small buy very cosy place. I resisted the urge to go for the more relaxing oil massage or reflexology, and booked an hour long Traditional Thai Massage.

Needless to say, the experience was absolutely delightful and yes I was once again amazed at the strength of this small in stature woman. I will certainly go back on any subsequent visit to get my essential Massage in Sydney.

The one sad element to this story is in a conversation with the lovely Thai woman after the massage, she said that it’s frustrating getting phone calls nearly every day from men looking for “special services” or “happy endings”. This is clearly a genuine and legitimate business and everything on offer is strictly non sexual.

For a wonderful massage experience that is as close as you will find in Thailand, I could not think of a better place for a real Thai Massage in Sydney.

Full Body Massage Sydney – A Great Experience

As I travel rather often I very much take pleasure in finding a local Thai Massage business wherever I might be for my favorite experience, a full body massage, and finding how their service differs from the many I’ve had, and particularly how they compare to a genuine Thai full body massage within Thailand. So on my most recent journey to New South Wales Australia, I decided I’d check the local Thai massage centres to see if I might find an excellent full body massage sydney experience.

From all the kinds of massage that are available, none fascinate me as much as traditional Thai massage. Although i’m a fully qualified massage therapist myself, the practice that the Thais have created still intrigues me further than all others. Perhaps the only detail that intrigues me more is how those rather tiny Thai women can manipulate a male of my stature with such power! That was certainly my experience in Thailand, I was wondering if it would be the same if I had a full body massage Sydney experience by the local Thais.

Thai massage interestingly started in India. It’s a system using both Meridian pressure points and stretching in combination with a very old breathing technique called ‘Pranayama’. The breathing practice cleanses and relaxes the muscles and at the same time builds up the nervous system.

Many Asian massage methods are in fact ancient healing rituals which originally were crafted and matured over centuries in the Far East and India. Asian massage practices are becoming even more common in western countries. This is in unison with the west’s increasing fascination with holistic methods of exercise and relaxation like pilates and yoga. I guess that’s one of the many reasons I really like Thai Massage so much, I really like the background and culture that it came from.

So continuing with my story. When recently in Sydney I was hoping to discover a Thai Massage Therapy business that wasn’t one of the more commercial centers that I would often find advertised in the weekly newspaper. So I merely enquired around wherever I found myself, and after a short time I was advised, “you should try out this Thai Massage shop not too far from here”. Ah ha, this may possibly be just what I was seeking.

Well, after coming across it in the suburb of Burwood, not too far west of the Sydney CBD, I was welcomed by a tiny lady, unmistakably a native Thai and I at once felt very comfortable in this small but very cosy location. I fought the urge to try the more relaxing reflexology or oil massage, which are also favorites of mine, and booked in for a sixty minute minute Traditional Thai Massage.

Needless to say, the massage was truly fantastic and yes I was again astounded at the power of this small lady. I’ll definately return on any future visit to receive my all important full body massage Sydney treat.

The only unfortunate part of this tale is found in a talk with the nice Thai lady after the massage, she told me that it is annoying receiving telephone calls almost each day from men searching for ‘special services’ or ‘happy endings’. This is unmistakably a legitimate and genuine business and all on offer is definately non sexual.

For a truly wonderful massage in Sydney that is as genuine as you could find in Thailand, I couldn’t imagine a better place for an authentic Thai full body massage Sydney experience.
