Question by Lizzi: Exactly how exposed will i be during a swedish massage?
I just found out that my mother is giving me a gift certificate for a swedish massage for christmas. However, i have a history of cutting (i’m completely better now and have been for almost a year). I have some fairly deep, obvious scars on my thighs. How exposed do i have to be for this? What are the chances that they will be discovered? Or that my mother will find out?

Your thighs will be seen, but honestly the person who gives the massage probably will not even ask you about them, much less say anything to your mother. With a massage, they will cover your chest and rear area, you can choose to have bra and underwear on, or to not. That’s up to you. I wouldn’t worry about anything negative happening from it – and congrats on stopping!!

Question by Sara: what exactly is done during a swedish massage?
I’m getting a swedish massage tomorrow and i was wondering if there is anything done while you are lying on your back? I’m self conscious about my stomach and really don’t want it exposed.

It is your massage. You can say no or tell the massage therapist you don’t want it touched or exposed or worked on or whatever.

My friend wants me to go with her to get full body massages but I’m a little nervous… has anyone ever gotten one? Can you explain to me WHAT they massage and how much clothing you’re allowed to wear! I might feel awkward… you know? If anyone knows or has ever gotten it done, just tell me ‘step by step’ what they typically do and what I wear! Thanks!!

Im new to the whole spa deal. People congratulate me all the time saying how manly I am to go to a day spa. A lot of the girls I work with have told me they wish their men would take better car of themselves. I rarely go, but when I do I get a massage to help relax with college and work.
I have had a pedicure one time. ANYWAY to get to the point I was wondering about a full body salt exfoliation. I’m thinking about getting one and really don’t know where to begin with the questions. I’m comfortable with nudity. My first time getting a massage I was nude and alright. No embarrassing moments. Just went and had my second massage earlier this month.
Can anyone tell me about the full body salt exfoliating massage? Im sure it’ll be different than a massage, because you’re draped. I need as much info as possible. Please and thank you. Thinking about going a 3rd time.
My girlfriend went with me last time. I guess she likes to pick on me, because I do get a little uncomfortable. I’m just trying to be more open-minded and take better care of myself. She should definitely go with me next time. She knows I’m paying… =(
