The points are accupressure/ puncture points that are said to be contraindicated during pregnancy and may cause labor. I am a licensed massage therapist and this is taught to us.

I’ve been pregnant twice and there is nothing wrong with having a deep pressure done on the back. My kids are fine. Pregnant women need it and love it. As far as releasing toxins goes, it’s about the same as her going out for a jog or doing cardio.

I agree for the most part about the placebo effect. I am also a massage therapist who doesn’t really believe a lot of what Chinese medicine has to offer. However, cupping, in my opinion, is wonderful with releasing fascia. I play Roller Derby & the fascia in my legs is almost always tight. My teacher did cupping on my legs & I felt a world of difference & I wasn’t expecting much. As far as the others you mentioned, I completely agree.

Well she was just repeating what is commonly taught in massage schools about Chinese medicine, which is, I’m sorry to say, make believe. Yes, thats right, I am a massage therapist who dares challenge Chinese medicine-it’s totally unscientific and completely ridiculous. Shiatsu, Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping, Reflexology and especially Reiki- it only works because of the PLACEBO effect.

Everything else that I have read says to avoid deep tissue massage because it improves immune system to wear it begins to attack its own fetus.

I am unfortunately NOT impressed about your knowledge of contraindicated points in the feet/legs. Please study your Chinese medicine: You were dead wrong on the lateral tibia: SP 6 is 4 fingers above medial malleolus against medial tibia – and there are NO points on the outside of the bent leg. Sorry! I like the fact that you are producing this little video, but you really should have your facts right.
