actually, a trained therapist can, will, and does use percussion all along the back including over the kidneys, the kidneys are deep and the amount of pressure used in percussion is not hard enough to cause damage to the kidneys if done properly, however, never do percussion on the back of the knees, and never never on the throat
You should NEVER do percussion ( slapping, hacking, or pounding) over the kidney area like demonstrated in this video! You can cause serious injury to a person’s kidneys by doing this, and a massage therapist should know better than to demonstrate something dangerous in a video.
