Is it normal for a chiropractor to massage the breast area?

He was very discrete and can tell that I was uncomfortable. Has anyone ever had this experience or am I being taken advantaged of by my male chiropractor?

Well, there is a difference between chest area and breasts. Chiropractors specialize in treating bone displacement. Last I checked, breasts do not have bones in them. If he was feeling on your actual breasts, then yes, he was crossing an ethical and moral line.
He may have been trying the relax those muscles before he did an adjustment or so see if there are any muscle knots that are causing you pain.
If you are uncomfortable, ask that a nurse be present in the room during your adjustment. If he’s legit, he will understand your concerns and comply with your wishes.
.
If you went to see the chiro with complaint of soreness in the breast area, I would be surprised if he didn’t do anything in the area. If he touched around the area for soreness, then it probably was an acceptable exam. Also if this was your first visit and before he had xrays, he won’t do anything more than trying to identify trouble area.
If this wasn’t your first visit, then you should know what he was trying to achieve. Hopefully it wasn’t anything unethical.
Okay! Normally Chiropractors deal with the treatment of bone and joint pains. They virtually deal with the spine but the practice can and does extend to the bones and more to the joints. Of course they do treat muscular pain, and joint pain but they concentrate mainly on the points/ places of the bones or the joints where the pain emanates from and into the muscles. So if he examined your breasts at the parts you complained of the pain to try to locate the painful areas, it is okay. But for him to massage the breast area apparently is a clear violation. Moreover there are no bones or joints in the breast area to feel or diagnose for the cause of the pain. To my knowledge upper back pain does cause some pain in the breast area, but as I said earlier, there appears no need for him to massage the breast area.
