    my husband also has a pacemaker and several disabling health disorders. When I contacted a spa to inquire about how safe it would be they wanted me to talk to one of their more experienced therapists. Maybe you could call the place first and ask them what’s their rule of thumb in this case. plus, you should check with the cardiologist.
    BTW- we never did go for the massage because my husband wound up in the hospital again.

    I do not think they are unsafe yet I would suggest you to consult an expert before starting to use.

    Most likely it is safe. You should check with the person’s Cardiologist to be sure, because they know the details of the person’s medical condition. A pacemaker would not be a problem. If the underlying heart condition is stable after surgery, then the person should be able to use the shiatsu massage chair with no trouble.
